Hi, I am Stephanie, founder and creative strategist at Maude House, and let me clear this one up fast. Strategy always comes first. Always. No exceptions. If you skip strategy and jump straight into execution, you are not marketing. You are throwing digital spaghetti at the wall and praying something sticks.
Before you send a single email, post a single reel, or launch a single campaign, you need clarity on three things.
Who you are talking to.
What you want them to do.
Why they should care.
Without that foundation, no amount of coordination can save you.
As someone who has worked alongside both marketing coordinators and marketing advisors, I can tell you the roles are not interchangeable.
A coordinator handles the operational side of marketing. They are the doers.
They keep the engine running, but they do not build the engine.
An advisor is the strategist. The architect. The person who decides the direction in the first place.
A marketing advisor helps businesses:
In short, an advisor builds the map. A coordinator helps you walk the path.
Without strategy, execution is just motion. You can post every day, send emails nonstop, and still not move the needle if you have no strategic direction.
With strategy, your marketing becomes intentional. Focused. Aligned. Effective.
You need both roles. But they serve different functions.
A marketing coordinator supports the day to day.
A marketing advisor guides the big picture.
Coordination makes things happen.
Strategy makes things work.
